History

8-9 Jan 1990, Paris (France), at constitutional conference comprising representatives of 34 countries, following proposals, Nov 1989, by President Mitterrand of France, and confirmation, 9 Dec 1989, Strasbourg (France), at summit conference of member countries of European Community. Statutes approved, Oct 1990, by European Parliament (EP). Inaugurated 15 Apr 1991, London (UK), on signature of a Headquarters Agreement.

Aims

Develop open and sustainable market economies in countries committed to, and applying, democratic principles.

Financial and/or material support; guidance/assistance/consulting; advocacy/lobbying/activism. Up to end 2016, invested over 110,000,000,000 in 4,500 projects. Active in:
