History

June 1995, on adoption of initial working programme to 1997, as the technical assistance project to the Baltic ministers of the Environment, based on environmental cooperation agreement between the 3 Baltic states, signed 21 July 1995. Subtitle: Baltic States Regional Environmental Development. New legal entity since 2003, when became an NGO.

Aims

Promote the significance of environmental protection, by developing cooperation and dialogue between various institutions and stakeholders, and by increasing their capacities in implementation of environmental management.

Activities

Development, implementation and participation in projects in the field of environment and sustainable development; development and maintenance of cooperation among stakeholders at different levels and scales; training, seminars and other events on environment, management and communication; promotion of higher accessibility of information and understanding of the principles of environment, position of environmental policy and practical implementation of the requirements of environmental protection; participation in processes of development and decision-making in environmental policy; research.
