History

Original Agreement regarding establishment of the Nordic Investment Bank signed by governments of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, 4 Dec 1975, Copenhagen (Denmark), and entered into force, 1 June 1976. Commenced operations, 2 Aug 1676. Original agreement superseded by Agreement concerning the Nordic Investment Bank, signed 23 Oct 1998, Oslo (Norway), and entered into force 18 July 1999. 1998 Agreement replaced by Agreement concerning the Nordic Investment Bank, signed 11 Feb 2004, Helsinki (Finland), and entered into force 1 Jan 2005. Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania became members of NIB 2005.

Finance projects that improve productivity and benefit the environment of the Nordic and Baltic countries.
