Founded 8 Jun 1990, by 6 regional authorities: Rhône-Alpes; Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur; Wallonia; Pais Vasco; Aquitaine; Nord-Pas-de-Calais. Original title: Fédération européenne des agences régionales de l'énergie et de l'environnement – European Federation of Regional Energy and Environment Agency. Brussels (Belgium) office created Nov 1991. Current statutes adopted 17 Jan 2019, Brussels (Belgium). Registered in accordance with Belgian law. EU Transparency Register: 579945334611-71.

Aims

Facilitate development of inter-regional partnerships in the fields of energy management, development of renewable energy and environment, thus encouraging exchange of experience and transfer of know-how and technology and enhancing energy efficiency; lobby European institutions on behalf of regional and local communities; promote regional dimension in energy and environment discussion, emphasizing demand, local supply and sustainable development; assist regions to develop capacity for action, especially in setting up energy and environment agencies.
