63rd International Meetings Statistics Report
The “new normal” becomes clearer
Union of International Associations releases 63rd International Meetings Statistics Report
The Report provides two views of a sector continuing to face multiple challenges due to the coronavirus pandemic: data for meetings in the year 2019 are presented in-full, the “last good year” before the crisis, in addition to an analysis of what took place in 2021.
The data in this report are drawn from the UIA database, the source of the International Congress Calendar and the Yearbook of International Organizations. Covering international association meetings held around the world in 2019 and 2021, the Report provides comprehensive data for the-year-that-was and also a twenty year perspective on trends from 2001 through 2021.
The report is available for free in June/July each year as part of the Associate Membership package. It is available for sale in September to the general public.

Global Civil Society & the UN Sustainable Development Goals
UIA is proud to present the new Volume 6 of the Yearbook of International Organizations, entitled Global Civil Society and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
There can be little question as to the relevance of the new topic. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (the UN SDGs) are informed by and in turn inform all gobal civil society actors. What, we asked, is their link with the UN SDGs? Which of the UN SDGs concern them? With which SDGs should they be concerned? What communities of international bodies form around each of the SDGs?

UIA and Relevant News
This initiative seeks to ensure full single market freedoms for associations, simplifying their cross-EU activities and promoting their fundamental rights.
Current rules create obstacles, such as additional registrations, when associations operate across EU borders. This may distort the market for non-profit organisations, affecting the EU democratic space and the exercise of EU fundamental rights.
The UIA welcomes its newest Associate Member Kingsley Napley.
