History

2009, by merger of Network of European Agricultural - Tropically and Subtropically Oriented - Universities and Scientific Complexes Related with Agricultural Development (NATURA) and European Consortium for Agricultural Research in the Tropics (ECART). Full title: AGRINATURA - European Alliance on Agricultural Knowledge for Development. AGRINATURA - European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG) functions as its operational arm. A Standing Committee of Association for European Life Science Universities (ICA).

Aims

Make substantial European contributions to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the Paris Declaration by: playing a proactive policy advocacy role for agricultural research and education for development in Europe and worldwide; developing and strengthening strategic alliances and partnerships with and between the different stakeholders in development, both in the North and in the South; encouraging networking and partnerships between institutions, organizations and individuals; organizing, facilitating and implementing joint participation in European and international programmes and projects.
