9 Sep 1966, as a regional body. Became an intergovernmental organization in 1975. Serves as a technical institution of F-XF2858 - Central American Integration System. Also referred to in English as Central American Regional Water Resources Committee.
Coordinate activities of the region in the fields of meteorology, hydrology, oceanography, climate and climate change, with a special commitment regarding water and water resources management, and increased vulnerability due to climate change.
