The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).


1925, Paris (France). Registered in accordance with French law. Secretariat moved to Brussels (Belgium), Mar 1998, to link up the existing structure of European Grouping of the Electricity Supply Industry (EURELECTRIC) and thus serve twin organizations representing electricity producers and distributors in Europe. However the two organizations maintained distinct identities, UNIPEDE being the association of the European electricity supply industry and EURELECTRIC the association of the European Union electricity supply industry, until their full merger, 7 Dec 1999, to become Union of the Electricity Industry - Eurelectric.


Study at international level all problems the solution of which is likely to contribute to the development of the electrical supply industry - generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy.
