1982, as a regional NGO set up to encourage and coordinate activities and stimulate action on environmental issues of concern to the South Pacific Region.
Improve cooperation and communication between people and agencies in the South Pacific involved in: environmental management and protection; environmental and human ecological research; formal and non-formal environmental education; participatory research; primary environment care; traditional medicine; focus on women as a voice for the environment, linking the concerns of women at the home level to the national and international fora.
