1992
History
Founded as a programme of B-XB3383 - UNESCO. Became operational in 1994.
Statutes adopted at 27th session of the General Conference in 1993; amended in 1995 by 28C/Resolution 22; 2017 by 39C/Resolution28.
Aims
Enhance the social and human sciences knowledge base to support an improved policy research interface to favour achievement of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable and inclusive development; thematic priority areas: social inclusion, environmental change, migration, peace and governance, digital transformations.
