May 1989, Lisbon (Portugal), by agreement of the Committee of Ministers of the D-XD0435 - Council of Europe (CE), as an "Enlarged Partial Agreement", to enable member states to continue cooperation established during the European Public Campaign on North-South Interdependence and Solidarity (North South Campaign), 1988. Commenced activities in May 1990. Abbreviated title: North-South Centre of the Council of Europe -- Centre Nord-Sud du Conseil de l'Europe -- Centro Norte-Sul do Conselho da Europa. Also referred to as: European Centre for Global Interdependence and Solidarity of the Council of Europe (North-South Centre). Also known under the acronym NSC.
Promote dialogue between North and South, fostering solidarity and raising awareness of global interdependence.
