Break the vicious circle of extreme poverty; eliminate social exclusion; through practical action and scientific research, promote free and full participation of the most underprivileged individuals, groups and social strata in the socio-economic, cultural and political life of the society surrounding them; pursue reappraisal of policies and programmes on the basis of their achievements on behalf of those who remain at the bottom of the social scale and have been most and longest deprived; provide means of enabling Fourth World families to think and speak out for themselves.
