History
30 Aug 1980, on agreement between 6 Arab countries: Algeria, Iraq, Libya, Mauritania, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
Aims
Intensify Arab efforts in all aspects of technical education; strengthen cooperation between Arab technical education institutions; promote awareness of technical education throughout the Arab world; develop and coordinate curricula and syllabuses; make Arabic the teaching language in technical education and assist in translating and standardizing textbooks; provide for the exchange of teachers and students; increase cooperation between manufacturers of scientific instruments and educational audiovisual aids.
