History

Established 1972, Kuwait, with participation of originally 15 Arab states, following setting up, Jan 1966, with assistance of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), of a national Kuwaiti institute, the Kuwait Institute for Economic and Social Planning in the Middle East.

Aims

Concentrate on fundamental socio-economic problems in Arab countries; train government employees to utilize and implement qualitative and quantitative development techniques in planning and economic management.
