Founded Apr 1955, an Incorporated Commonwealth Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Caribbean having been set up in 1917. Articles of Association amended 1970. Re-organized 28 Apr 1981, Sam Lord's Castle (Barbados).
Stimulate the private sector to play greater role in national and regional development; increase employment, income, productivity and economic growth in Caribbean countries; assist in developing privately-owned productive enterprises, increasing the ability of local entrepreneurs to establish, expand or increase the efficiency of their enterprises; act as private sector spokesman on political advocacy, trade and regional integration.
