Original title: International Association for the Protection of Industrial Property -- Association internationale pour la protection de la propriété industrielle -- Asociación Internacional para la Protección de la Propiedad Industrial -- Internationale Vereinigung für Gewerblichen Rechtsschutz. Current title adopted 2001. Also referred to by English initials IAPIP and by German initials IVfgR. Registered in accordance with Swiss Civil Code.

Aims

Study and promote development of international protection of industrial property - in particular as regards inventions, trade marks, trade names, designs and industrial models and repression of unfair competition - and of other related intellectual property objects, in particular copyright; study and compare existing legislation with a view to its improvement and unification; encourage development and extension of international conventions, especially that establishing the Paris Union.
