Founded Feb 1987, by 10 national associations of Christian Action for the Abolition of Torture -- Action des chrétiens pour l'abolition de la torture (ACAT), the first national organization having been set up 1974, France. Previous titles in Spanish and German Federación Internacional - Acción de los Cristianos para la Abolición de la Tortura -- Internationale Föderation - Aktion der Christen für die Abschaffung der Tortur. Known also in French as Fédération internationale de l'action des chrétiens pour l'abolition de la torture. EU Transparency Register: 428642112183-35.
