History
11 Mar 1958. Present name adopted 1969. Current Constitution came into force 24 Nov 1994, Prague (Czech Rep). Dec 2000, merged with U-XE0499 - European Federation of Food, Catering and Allied Workers' Unions within the IUF (ECF-IUF) to form F-XF6035 - European Federation of Food, Agriculture and Tourism Trade Unions (EFFAT).
Aims
Through its member trade organizations, contribute to the improvement and harmonization of the living and working conditions of the wage earners of the different agricultural sectors in all the countries, for achieving a perfect democracy and lead to the participation of workers in the decisions regarding national and European Union agricultural policy.

Congress (every 3 years). Executive Committee, consisting of the elected Management Committee and one representative of each member organization. Management Committee, comprising President, 8 Vice-Presidents and 8 personal representatives for the Vice-Presidents. Auditing Committee, composed of 3 members nominated by affiliated unions. Secretariat, headed by Secretary-General.
