The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

1977 Geneva Switzerland
History
1977, Geneva (Switzerland), within the framework of E-XE4161 - UNEP, as Regional Seas Programme Activity Centre, to ensure the overall coordination of F-XF4234 - Regional Seas Programme, launched in 1974, and to serve as secretariat of the T-XT7638 - Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment and the Coastal Region of the Mediterranean (Barcelona Convention) and its related protocols. Moved from Geneva to Nairobi (Kenya), 1 Sep 1985, when name changed to UNEP Oceans and Coastal Areas Programme Activity Centre (OCA/PAC - UNEP). Ceased to exist.

Provide overall coordination of UNEP's programme on oceans, coastal areas and freshwater resources.
