History
1984 as Science Management and Organisation Programme of Commonwealth Science Council, followed by transformation in Oct 1989, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), by F-XF3257 - Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), as an intergovernmental organization with a Support Unit located with the C-XC0376 - Commonwealth Secretariat. Original title: Commonwealth Consultative Group on Technology Management (CCGTM). 'CCGTM/Private Sector Partnership (CCGTM/PSP)' was launched in Feb 1993, Kuala Lumpur, on the initiative of CHOGM. Current status and title adopted Jun 1995, London (UK), when registered under UK law as a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee independent of ComSec. Currently fully operational as a networking organization, officially launched as CPTM Ltd by CHOGM, Nov 1995, Auckland (New Zealand). New transformation phase initiated Feb 2019.
Aims
Promote a global cooperative approach to the harnessing of technology management for development through formal and informal smart partnerships between public and private sectors, binding Commonwealth governments and private sector companies in networking operations of mutual benefit; respond quickly to requests from Commonwealth governments.
