History

Established 21 Jun 1920, Paris (France), on signature of a Convention, replacing H-XH4859 - International Association of Refrigeration, set up in 1908, Paris. Convention modified 31 May 1937, then replaced by an International Agreement, 1 Dec 1954, which was subsequently modified on 2 Sep 1967 and 28 Aug 1971. Previously also referred to in Spanish as Instituto Internacional del Frio. Statutes registered in 'LNTS 207' and 'LNTS 4394'.

Aims

Promote knowledge of refrigeration and associated technologies and applications on a global scale that improve quality of life in a cost effective and environmentally sustainable manner.
