11 Sep 1981, Mexico City (Mexico), on signature of T-XT8171 - Multilateral Agreement on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the National Customs Directors of Latin America, Spain and Portugal. The Convention came into force on 11 Dec 1981. During XX Annual Meeting, 29 Oct 1999, Agreement was modified; Protocol of the Modification came into force 17 Oct 2002. The Secretariat subsumes the functions and goals of H-XF7801 - Sistema Latinoamericano de Capacitación e Investigación Aduaneras.
Promote and develop cooperation and mutual assistance between international customs administration in order to standardize and simplify customs procedures meant to prevent, investigate and repress customs offences.
