Union of International Associations (UIA) Round Table Asia-Pacific goes virtual – hosted and powered by Seoul Tourism Organization

UIA’s 8th Associations Round Table Asia-Pacific on 17 & 18 September 2020 will take place in a virtual meeting space set in Seoul

In its 14th year of organizing Round Tables for international associations, this will be the first time UIA will hold the event in a fully virtual format.


The programme of this UIA Associations Round Table will address topics of immediate interest and relevance for associations, such as working with remote teams, finding the ideal destination for an event, association business model innovation, mobilizing resources, achieving goals and finding partners. A keynote speech from the UIA President on the UN’s 75th Anniversary will also be part of the programme.

The Union of International Associations (UIA) has invited 25,000 international associations to participate in its 8th edition of the Survey on International Meetings Issues to uncover how they organize their meetings and conferences. The Report will be released on 12th November 2020 at the annual UIA Associate Members Meeting in Prague and be freely available to the public on the UIA’s website.

The Convention Bureau Davos (CB) represents and markets the Destination Davos Klosters international and national as meeting place for congresses, meetings, incentives and events.

Boardroom has published an article about UIA's Round Table Europe 2019 entitled "Getting in Shape with UIA Round Table Europe".

"The UIA Round Tables are organized annually by the Union of International Associations, the Brussels-based research institute and documentation centre. They lie at the very core of UIA’s education project, and provide an opportunity to learn through networking and practice how to better run associations. UIA has been a pioneer in monitoring and provision of information on international organizations, international associations and their global challenges since its establishment in 1907."

Professor Jari Nurmi from the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences at Tampere University, Finland has been named the new Tampere Congress Ambassador.

Professor Jari Nurmi is one of the most active congress organizers in Tampere. His numerous roles as a chairperson or board member in organizing committees demonstrates his devotion to congresses.

The Siracusa International Institute for Criminal Justice and Human Rights will organize the 22nd Specialization Course in International Criminal Law for Young Penalists ‘M. Cherif Bassiouni’ on “75 Years: The Universal Declaration of Human Rights and The Genocide Convention” between Monday, June 12, and Saturday, June 17, 2023. The course will take place in presence at the headquarters of the Siracusa Institute, located in Siracusa, Italy; online participation will also be allowed.
