Yearbook of International Organizations Achieves Dual Milestone

[BRUSSELS BELGIUM, JULY 2026]

The Union of International Associations is pleased to announce the achievement of two milestones in the Yearbook of International Organizations:

  • The Yearbook has surpassed 80,000 organization and association profiles
  • The International Congress Calendar has surpassed 600,000 event profiles
The earliest meeting in the Calendar is from 1843 and the earliest founded organization in the Yearbook dates from 312AD.

Since its re-establishment following World War Two, the Yearbook has been published in book form on an annual basis. UIA began profiling the meetings of international bodies in its journal, this effort later became a quarterly publication. As online publications both the Yearbook and Calendar are continuously updated.

The Yearbook is published in print and online editions and the International Congress Calendar is an online publication.

Covering intergovernmental organizations (IGOs), and international nongovernmental bodies of all types (trade associations, scholarly societies, social movements, religious bodies and more) the Yearbook has been pioneer in mapping the connections between organizations.
