The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

Promote the common good on the basis of Christian principles; consider topics related to the full development of the human person, with special reference to the advancement of women; establish services necessary for such advancement within a process of continuing education; make such services available to all women without any discrimination, in accordance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Centre for research and programme planning. Advisory services to institutions. Coordinates groups and associations in Latin American countries and groups in the United States and Europe. In addition, through the Study Centre, maintains contacts with individuals living in various parts of the world. Currently focuses on issues highlighted by the 'United Nations Decade for Women'.
