The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).
History
as EC Migrants Forum -- Forum des migrants/migrantes des Communautés européennes. Has also been referred to in English as Forum of Immigrants of the EU. Registered in accordance with Belgian law. Ceased to exist, around 2001.
Aims
Act as the consultative organ for the migrant populations with the institutions of the European Union; facilitate dialogue and exchange of information between them; improve inter-cultural, inter-community and inter-ethnic relations in the European Union; promote social justice and pluralism, the specific identities and the interests of migrants and refugees originating from non-EU countries; fight, through peaceful means, against racism and xenophobia; work for equal rights, freedom of movement, the right to work, the right of establishment and the voting right for immigrants; promote the teaching of various migrant languages in each of EU member states.

General Assembly (annual). Board of Management of 32, comprising: President, 4 Vice-Presidents, Secretary General and Treasurer; 15 representatives (one per country) of each EU country; 17 representatives on the basis of of continents or countries of origin (3 from Africa, 2 from Asia, 2 from Eastern Europe, 2 from North Africa, 2 from Turkey, one representing stateless peoples, one from the Caribbean, one from Latin America, one from the European Union, one representing Rome populations, one representing women's organizations of the Forum).
