The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

Mar 1987, Mexico City (Mexico), at a Congress of World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA). Mar 2004, reorganizing. No activities reported since 2006.

Aims

Identify and promote women and women's issues in such international public health areas as: safer motherhood; maternal and child health; employment; training; legislation; policy formation.

Activities

Sponsors panels on women's health; serves as an exchange forum; provides technical assistance; offers information on existing training, resources and materials; carries out research on neglected women's health areas; runs campaign 'Save a Mother', adopting a maternity and upgrading conditions; supports some pilot projects in the field.
