The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

Apr 1979, by representatives of national trade associations in the field of consumer electronic equipment. Registered in accordance with Belgian law, 1990. Ceased to exist Oct 2001; activities taken over by DIGITALEUROPE.

Aims

Coordinate European Union related activities of Association's members and pursue technical, economical and legal research activities in relation to areas of common interest and the representation thereof.

Main areas of activity focus on all European Community/European Union policies, regulations and other activities which are relevant to or affect the industry, its customers and its markets. Represented consumer electronics product areas: video display products with their interfacing equipment; audio products with their interfacing equipment; storage and processing equipment; personal communication products; traffic guidance systems; product/systems combinations.
