The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

1983, Townsville (Australia). Apr 2001 absorbed by International Water Management Institute (IWMI).

Aims

Contribute to the alleviation of poverty and improvement of food security in developing regions through research and related activities that promote sustainable land management.

Activities

(i) IBSRAM has established the following research networks: ASIALAND Management of Acid Soils; ASIALAND Management of Sloping Lands; PACIFICLAND Management of Sloping Lands. (ii) Management of Soil Erosion Consortium. (iii) Co-convenor of the Soil, Water and Nutrient Management Programme of the CGIAR. (iv) Bibliographic information is disseminated to NARS (national agricultural research systems) scientists on request; (v) Co-convenor of the Management of Soil Erosion Consortium (CGIAR). Technical information services and technology transfer are promoted through training activities for national capacity development and collaborative training in soil, water and nutrient management.
