Established on signing of an agreement between the Government of India and F-XF0239 - Ford Foundation, as one of 15 centres supported by E-XE4468 - CGIAR System Organization (CGIAR). Constitution, sponsored by F-XF1393 - International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), B-XB0971 - FAO and E-XE3382 - UNDP, signed 5 Jul 1972.
