History

1947, Chaudfontaine (Belgium), as H-XC2795 - International Union of Young Christian Democrats (IUYCD). Structure changed, 1959, Paris (France), to become European regional section of a reformed IUYCD, named European Union of Young Christian Democrats (EUYCD) -- Union européenne des jeunes démocrates chrétiens (UEJDC). Statutes revised 1973, Rome (Italy). New statutes and listed name adopted 1984; statutes last modified 1994, Bogensee (Germany). Ceased to exist Jun 1997, when activities taken over by E-XE2794 - Youth of the European People's Party (YEPP), set up 30 Jan-2 Feb 1997.

Aims

Unite political organizations and movements of young Christian democrats; contribute to the construction of a free, just and united European society, rejecting nationalism, totalitarianism and any privilege resulting from class, culture or race.
