Agreement Establishing the Centre and Rules of Procedure amended Jan 1998, Dar es Salaam (Tanzania UR); current mission and objectives adopted by Governing Council, 13 Jun 1997. Original title: East African Mineral Resources Development Centre (EAMRDC). Name subsequently changed to Eastern and Southern African Mineral Resources Development Centre (ESAMRDC). Subsequently changed title to Southern and Eastern African Mineral Centre (SEAMIC) – Centre de mise en valeur des ressources minérales de l'Afrique de l'Est et du Sud, 2 Nov 1998. Current title adopted Jul 2015.
