1984, Washington DC (USA), Grupo Esquel Perú having been set up in 1978, Quito (Ecuador). No activities reported since 2014.

Aims

Promote policies and programmes for social equity and sustainable development with special emphasis in the strengthening of civil society; Work for equitable and sustainable development in Latin America; promote development of civil society; bring together NGOs working at the grassroots level, collaborating with them in the formulation of broad-based objectives and programmes and assisting them in securing funding for their projects; give grassroots organizations access to decision-making levels and help them translate the needs and problems of their constituencies into macro considerations.

Regional Board comprises Presidents of each national group plus the founding members. Regional Editorial Board. Red Grupo Esquel, with offices in 7 Latin American countries, comprises a network of organizations and individuals. National groups are each headed by independent governing boards representative of professional and political spectra.
