Jul 1995, as the official organization of the Swedish Government in charge of development cooperation, after merger of U-XG8022 - Swedish Agency for Research Cooperation with Developing Countries (SAREC), U-XG2072 - Swedish Board for Investment and Technical Support (BITS), Sandö Course Centre and SwedeCorp, now being special departments of SIDA.
Main objectives: economic growth; economic and social equality; economic and political independence; democratic development; environmental protection; gender equality.
