History

Founded informally, Sep 1997, Paipa (Colombia), by delegates of the 6th Helen Keller World Conference for deafblind people of E-XF1898 - Helen Keller International (HKI). Formally founded Oct 2001, Auckland (New Zealand), at the 7th Helen Keller World Conference and 1st founding General Assembly of WFDB.

Aims

Improve the quality of life of persons with deafblindness worldwide, so as to achieve their equal rights and equal opportunities in all areas of society; be a worldwide forum for the exchange of knowledge and experiences in the area of deafblindness; increase international solidarity among organisations of persons with deafblindness.
