Provide access to all types of information relevant to release of animals, plants and micro-organisms into the environment, including regulatory aspects regarding non-indigenous, novel or genetically modified organisms, ecological data relevant to releasing environments and impact on biodiversity; facilitate access to existing databases and other information sources.
Comprises a network with secretariat at U-XF2263 - Microbial Strain Data Network (MSDN), Sheffield (UK) and with online system host at 'Basa de Dados Tropical (BDT)', Fundação Tropical de Pesquisas e Tecnologia "André Tosello", Campinas (Brazil).
