The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History
1994, by members of the European Parliament. Current statutes adopted 29 Nov 2001. Registered in accordance with Belgian law. As of 6 Jan 2009, ceased to exist.
Aims
Give an effective political voice to maritime regional interests in the EU and work to establish an integrated maritime strategy; act as a platform to express ideas, protect interests and develop prosperity of the European maritime economy at regional level, emphasizing employment, environment and excellence within the framework of improving competitiveness.
