Subsequently changed title to International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA) -- Association internationale des gays et des lesbiennes -- Asociación Lesbia y Gay Internacional -- Asociación Internacional de Lesbianas y Gays, July 1986, Copenhagen (Denmark), at 8th Annual Conference. Registered as an asbl in accordance with Belgian law, 1997, as an aisbl, 2008. Also registered in accordance with Swiss Civil Code: No CH-660-1-166-015-4 / IDE CHE-455-926-653.


Act as a leading organisation and a global voice for the rights of those who face discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation, gender identity and/or gender expression and intersex; work towards achieving equality, freedom and justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex people; empower members and other human rights organizations in promoting and protecting human rights, irrespective of people's sexual orientation, gender identity and/or gender expression and intersex; facilitate cooperation and solidarity among ILGA regions and members.
