History
Founded in accordance with decision of 19th Session of C-XC0069 - Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO), 23 Jan 1978, Doha (Qatar), as part of AALCC's integrated disputes settlement scheme in the economic and commercial field. Accorded privileges diplomatic immunities accorded to international organizations under Headquarters Agreement between AALCC and the Arab Republic of Egypt, Dec 1987.
Aims
Provide a system for settlement of international commercial disputes for parties engaged in trade, commerce and investments with and within the Arabo-African region; promote international commercial arbitration in the region; provide training so as to procure international arbitrators; coordinate and assist activities of existing arbitration institutions, particularly those in the region; assist countries of the region to harmonize with recent international investment and trade trends and techniques.
