Established by Convention on the Settlement of Investment Disputes between States and Nationals of other States, 18 Mar 1965, Washington DC (USA), formulated by the Executive Directors of International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) (World Bank). Entered into force 14 Oct 1966, when ratified by 20 countries. One of 5 organizations that make up The World Bank Group.

Aims

Provide facilities and services to support conciliation and arbitration of international investment disputes.
