Founded 1987, Bangkok (Thailand), as Forests, Trees and People Programme in Asia (FTPP), within U-XF2848 - Asia-Pacific Agroforestry Network (APAN). Subsequently also referred to as Regional Community Forestry Training Centre and Regional Community Forestry Training Centre for Asia and the Pacific. Current title adopted 2009. First building inaugurated 1991. Became independent in 2000.
Develop and support learning processes that enhance community forestry development in Asia; support capacity building and change processes that enhance the effectiveness of organizations involved in community forestry; support development of effective institutional arrangements for improved forest governance.
