Proposed Jun 2009, by Jun 2009, set up following proposal by Korea Rep and ASEAN-ROK Commemorative Summit. Agreement between Governments of D-XD0165 - ASEAN and the Republic of Korea on Forest Cooperation signed 18 Nov 2011, Bali (Indonesia) and entered in force 5 Aug 2012. ASEAN-ROK Forest Cooperation initiated as 1st step towards establishment of current AFoCO, which agreement was adopted Sep 2015 and entered into force Apr 2018.
Strengthen regional forest cooperation by transforming proven technology and policies into concrete actions in the context of sustainable forest management to address the impact of climate change.
