Support the principle of equal opportunity for all citizens, without regard for sex or social status, to benefit from and participate fully and without restriction in the efforts of the countries of the Maghreb towards development, modernization and peace; defend the broadening and consolidation of, and respect for, women's rights in the region; motivate militant activity of member associations by aiming for the highest and carrying out publicity and research activities which national NGOs would find difficult to implement; consolidate the women's movement and civil society activity in the Maghreb and Arab-Islamic regions; act as a bridge between the pluralistic identity of the region and the rest of the Mediterranean so as to reinforce the spirit of tolerance and openness.
