1937, Paris (France), at 1st international congress of child psychiatry. Adopted title of International Association for Child Psychiatry (IACP), 1948, London (UK). Formerly Comité international de psychiatrie infantile. Current title adopted, 1978.

Aims

Promote study, treatment, care and prevention of mental and emotional disorders and deficiencies involving children, adolescents and their families, with emphasis on practice, research and collaboration between child psychiatrists and the allied professions of psychology, social work, paediatrics, public health, nursing, education and social sciences.
