Established when resolution (2011/24) adopted by E-XE3377 - ECOSOC to create UN-GGIM, following report of the Secretary-General (E/2011/89).

Aims

Play a leading role in setting the agenda for the development of global geospatial information and promote its use to address key global challenges; provide a forum to liaise and coordinate among Member States, and among international organizations, civil society and private sector.
