History
Replaces H-XH0005 - Union internationale des hôteliers (UIH), set up Jun 1869, Koblenz (Germany), and 'International Hotel Mens Alliance', formed Apr 1921, later known as H-XH0004 - International Hotel Alliance. Bylaws created and Association recognized by UN as the representative of the private industry worldwide. New constitution and statutes came into force 1 Jan 1978. Current statutes entered into force 1 Nov 1997, when adopted present name. Moved to Lausanne (Switzerland) in 2008 when new statutes and bylaws were adopted.
