Lobbies the European Commission and Parliament on forthcoming tourism legislation, and national governments on tourism issues; produces guidelines on client safety for tour managers, on the environment and on road safety; provides members with marketing and networking opportunities; major project to promote Europe as a tourism destination in long-haul overseas markets; setting up an exclusive liability insurance scheme for its members; organizes training schemes for tour managers; runs a number of sub-committees looking at such aspects of the tourism industry as: transportation; the environment; indirect taxation; membership; conferences; social affairs; tourism promotion.
