Founded 14 Oct 1977, Delhi (India), as Asian and Pacific Regional Agricultural Credit Association – Association régionale du crédit agricole pour l'Asie et le Pacifique – Asociación Regional de Crédito Agricola para Asia y el Pacifico, at 1st General Assembly, in response to recommendations of FAO sponsored Regional Seminar on Agricultural Credit for Small Farmers in Asia, 1974, and World Conference on Credit for Farmers in Developing Countries, 1975, Rome (Italy).
Promote efficiency and effectiveness of rural finance and improve access to financial services in the region; support global dissemination.
