The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

Ceased real time existence, 31 Dec 1998, on expiry of funding contract with the European Commission. Maintained virtual presence on the Internet until dissolution, Jan 2001.

Aims

Function as an international network bringing together different disciplines in local groupings to address identified issues; promote and facilitate research and provide a forum for dissemination of knowledge; assist researchers and interested individuals or organizations to meet, exchange ideas and establish contact; provide a framework for financing projects contributing to innovative solutions in the areas of modelling, real-world implementation and understanding of processes involved.
