Founded

1999-12-10

History

Founded following deliberations commencing Feb 1999. Governing body of the OneWorld Network (OWN), set up at the same time, and guardian of OneWorld's vision and values. OneWorld was conceived by Peter Armstrong and Anuradha Vittachi in 1994; they set up OneWorld Online (OWO), 24 Jan 1995, as an internet portal on global justice, under the aegis of the (UK) OneWorld Broadcasting Trust (OWBT).

Aims

Promote the developing vision, values, identity and creative synergy of the OneWorld global participatory media network, focusing on global justice and innovating user-generated platforms for NGO and citizen-led social change; facilitate strategic and intellectual leadership for the Network; promote diversity across the Network.
